Customer demand
--The client is a European manufacturer of motorized curtains. They cooperated with a local motor supplier to develop a new type of motorized curtains, but encountered the following problems, the previous supplier has not been able to give a timely and effective solution, so he found us:
-The motorized curtains were running too loudly, and the main noise came from electric motor dc motor. After changing several different kinds of dc motor, the effect is still unsatisfactory.
-Leakage of micro gear motor lubricant caused occasional damage to the circuit board.
-Micro electric motors dc life was not up to expectations.
Redesign
-Our engineers had a detailed communication with the customer, and understood that this motorized curtains need high torque motors to drive the heavier curtains, usually the high torque dc motor are matched with high speed dc motor with higher rotational speed and higher power, which will be louder.
-The engineering department conducted all the tests on the samples of motors used by the customer, and came up with the parameters of the electric motor gear reducer really needed for this motorized curtains, including the voltage, current, speed, torque and size in various cases. Matching the motor with sufficient performance from our product library.
-We finally customized a silent motor, which includes optimized high-speed motor parts and gearbox silent treatment. The final result was to reduce the low rpm electric motors' operating sound from 70 decibels to about 40 decibels. A perfect combination of high torque requirements and low noise.
Starting from the need
-Regarding lubricant leakage, we fully considered the average temperature of the customer's local area and used another lubricant with lower fluidity that could meet the normal operation of the small high torque electric motor, and redesigned the sealing cover of the gearbox to fundamentally eliminate the risk of lubricant leakage.
Reduce future risk
-Customer response to the previous electric motor with gearbox life can only be used for 2-3 years, not up to expectations. We understand the working frequency of the electric curtains with the customer, and recommend the customer to replace the brushed motor with our brushless dc electric motor, and use more wear-resistant gear set.
-After our aging test, the service life of our customized motor reaches 6 years, which is far more than the customer's expectation.
